Protect your Wi-Fi – 20 Minutes

Often seen as a harmless act, revealing your WiFi password can have serious consequences. If infiltrated, a hacker could exploit your network by taking out subscriptions via your box, which they would then sell on the Dark Web. What’s more, unauthorised purchases can be made on your box by people connected to your Wi-Fi.

To avoid these unpleasant situations, adopt strict security measures. Don’t share your passwords indiscriminately, and don’t expose them to public view. Opt for a strong password and, if possible, use a “guest” mode on your box for visitors. In addition, make sure you change the default password on your box. These simple but essential precautions can protect you from the harmful consequences of an intrusion into your Wi-Fi network.
