The global computer blackout – RTS interview

Planes grounded, trains at a standstill, stock exchanges affected and problems in hospitals: a vast computer breakdown affected numerous services around the world on Friday 19th July.

The outage is believed to have been caused by a conflict between a CrowdStrike update and Windows, and has resulted in repeated “blue screens” at numerous companies: Zurich airport, the organizing committee for the Paris Olympics, the London Stock Exchange and many others.
