The Lockbit ransomware group has fallen – Le Temps

“All your important files have been encrypted…” was the beginning of the message left by the infamous Lockbit ransomware group, responsible for 25% of ransomware attacks last year.

However, thanks to an international police operation involving several countries and the seizure of hundreds of servers on the darkweb, law enforcement agencies have managed to take control of Lockbit’s infrastructure. This victory marks a crucial turning point not only for victims, who will now be able to recover decryption keys, but also for the fight against cybercrime, dealing a significant blow to trust between ransomware creators and their affiliates.

The law enforcement agencies have demonstrated their sense of humour and determination by displaying their logo on the websites seized from the criminals, sending a strong message to the cybercrime community.

We congratulate our friends and colleagues in law enforcement on this remarkable operation. If you have been a victim of Lockbit, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can facilitate your access to the decryption keys for your infrastructure.
